Since 1878
A family tradition that remains since 1878
The family-owned company ARBEAU — founded in 1878
The family-owned company ARBEAU was founded in 1878 by Prosper Arbeau. Following, Jean-Louis and Cécile Arbeau expanded the activities of the company when they started to distillate alcohol. Their son, Pierre Arbeau (1913–2002), had been a pioneer by expanding activities in the wine trade. Ali Mahmoudi, an Iranian doctor in physics, married Pierre's daughter in 1975. Ali gave up his career in Physics in 1980 to join the ARBEAU company. He became the head of the sales division, then graduated in the early years in oenology. After being highly engaged and having worked hard for business development, Ali and Marie-Cécile decided to become independent winemakers at Château Saint Louis, the estate they bought in 1991.
Fanny joined the family team — since 2014
Since 2014, their daughter Fanny, an engineer, joined the family team and is also currently being trained as an oenologist. She is particularly involved in business development activities and embodies the 5th generation.
